Happy Birthday, Jacob!!

OK... So I know I'm not off to a great start to blogging regularly. We've been pretty busy this summer. However, I just had to get on here and say a belated Happy Birthday to our precious Jacob!! I cannot believe he is already 6 years old! He had a swim party here at the house to celebrate and invited several friends from his class to join in. His preschool teacher from PPCD Ms. Paula came too and Jacob was so excited to see her again. We miss her so much! I was hoping Noah would have her this coming year, but she is going to be teaching in a pilot program that is starting up so he won't have her. On Jacob's actual birthday, I gave him the choice of going anywhere he wanted for lunch. I had suggested such places as Rain Forest Cafe and yet any guesses to what he chose? That's right - McDonalds! But not the one we normally go to. He wanted to go to the one that is by where we go to get the kids' haircuts, because it has a better play area. We then went and saw "Evan Almighty". It was a great movie with a great message. I highly recommend it!!

Since we are honoring Jacob on his birthday, I want to share a little about our special boy. He is by far the cuddliest of the four. He amazes me everyday with his sensitivity in the things he says to me. His newest thing is to stay awake the longest so that he can ask me to come snuggle and talk and have me all to himself. It's one of my favorite times of the day! We've been having alot of good talks lately about Heaven. For those who don't know, Jacob asked Jesus into his heart in May. One night, after we had tucked the boys in, Andrew started telling Jacob about what it means to have Jesus in his heart and Jacob told him that he also wanted to do that. I went up to their bedroom to see what all the late night talking was about, and when I opened their door, Jacob was beaming and proclaimed, "I just asked Jesus into my heart!" Needless to say, I was almost in tears. Not just at the decision, but also at the fact that his big brother was the one to pray with him. He also has the biggest imagination. Today, he and Nicholas were playing house and arguing over who was the mom and who was the dad. It was too cute!! Those are the moments that I wish I could freeze in time!

Well, I guess I will end it here for now. I have lots more to say about our summer, but I will save it for another post.
